My husband, Rob, and I make up Vis Photography. We love living life together, and we love working together too! I do all the talking, and he's my quiet secret weapon. We're so blessed to be able to create art, meet wonderful people, and capture those "stop and smell the roses" kind of moments.
I really do think that the art of photography is a lot about stopping to smell the roses. Life is so busy and chaotic sometimes that it takes the stillness of a photo to remind us what's worth stopping for. Even a wedding day can fly by before the bride and groom realizes the beauty of what they just experienced. It's the photo of that first glance or embarrassing moment that can reveal the eternal significance hiding behind the fleeting seconds.
Rob and I met in the third grade and have been inseparable since the ninth grade - you can ask him about the mysterious gap in years. We were married the day before I graduated from college. Since then we've enjoyed and tolerated many adventures, discovered our love for photography, had two sweet babies, opened our hearts wider to the world, and we are blessed to continue living day after precious day.
We can't wait to meet you and share a bit of life with you! -- Love Leah Vis

Burgundy had a very special theme in mind for her pregnancy shoot. This year has been full of challenge and meaning, and she really wanted that to be reflected in how her pregnancy was captured. Instead of telling you her vision and stories behind it all, I’d rather the pictures speak for themselves.

Just in case you don’t know, these are my two precious children. I really think that children are the most wonderful beings on the planet. These two fill me with wonder every day. Look at that first picture with me for a second. Isn’t that the truest picture of a little boy that you’ve seen all week? It is bursting with boy. I have three more things to say about these pictures:
1. If you know my kids, you may be thinking, “Oh my goodness, Abel looks so old.” It’s not true. He’s still my little one, and I promise he doesn’t look as old as these pictures make him seem.
2. Roni didn’t get much air time with these pictures. I guess you can tell who was a more willing participant and who was maybe feeling a little grumpy?
3. Abel’s perfectly hole-y jeans are now the best shorts ever and I promise just as handsome.

Love the photos! What precious children you have, Leah. Children are such a blessing. Thanks for sharing and best of luck with your fantastic photography and blogging!
So, Tommy is the master romantic. He planned this photo shoot where I would ask them if I could photograph them so I could have a chance to experiment. But all along he was planning on asking Becky to marry him and have it all photographed and captured in time. Take note, boys. Everything was beautiful! Job well done, Tommy!
