My husband, Rob, and I make up Vis Photography. We love living life together, and we love working together too! I do all the talking, and he's my quiet secret weapon. We're so blessed to be able to create art, meet wonderful people, and capture those "stop and smell the roses" kind of moments.
I really do think that the art of photography is a lot about stopping to smell the roses. Life is so busy and chaotic sometimes that it takes the stillness of a photo to remind us what's worth stopping for. Even a wedding day can fly by before the bride and groom realizes the beauty of what they just experienced. It's the photo of that first glance or embarrassing moment that can reveal the eternal significance hiding behind the fleeting seconds.
Rob and I met in the third grade and have been inseparable since the ninth grade - you can ask him about the mysterious gap in years. We were married the day before I graduated from college. Since then we've enjoyed and tolerated many adventures, discovered our love for photography, had two sweet babies, opened our hearts wider to the world, and we are blessed to continue living day after precious day.
We can't wait to meet you and share a bit of life with you! -- Love Leah Vis

Meet baby Ever Ann. Don’t you LOVE that name? We’ve known her daddy and mommy, John and Bonnie, for a while now. John even helped us find the house we moved into this year. If you need a great real estate agent, he’s your man! My favorite part about Ever’s photo session was hearing her birth story. John and Bonnie should have 10 kids because Bonnie is a pro! They had their baby at Ancient Paths Midwifery, which is where we had Roni. Good grief, don’t get me started about Lori (the midwife) and her birth center. Well…maybe just a little. It is the most peaceful, natural, and supportive place to have a baby. It’s so comforting to know that you are surrounded by prayer when you walk into that place. But anyway, who is this blog post about anyway?
Um…2 months going on 16 years old.
John and Bonnie really wanted pictures of all of their feet together so that they can remember how little her feet were at this point. That’s so great, because you really do forget.

Sweet, sweet Olivia. I love doing newborn pictures, but I LOVE love it when it’s one of my own…well, close enough. This is my sister’s first baby. I’m so proud of my sister. I had the privilege of being with Oscar and Andrea at Olivia’s birth. Andrea, you’re a hero, and Oscar you were some pretty amazing labor support! Now for the fun part!

Hopefully, I spelled sweet Zechariah’s name right. Seriously, doesn’t this first picture make you want to hug and kiss him? Oh my goodness.
